About
A.J. McCarthy is a British songwriter from Market Harborough, England, creating heartfelt, story-led songs about family, memory, love, growing up and the people who shape our lives.
His songwriting draws on personal experiences and everyday moments, blending soul, acoustic storytelling, folk-pop and Americana while keeping the lyric and emotional connection at the centre.
His debut single, “Just One More Day,” released on 16 October 2026, was written in memory of his late father. A piano-led soul ballad, it reflects on love, loss and the universal wish to spend just one more day with someone we have lost.
Working as a songwriter rather than a performing artist, A.J. McCarthy combines human-led songwriting and storytelling with AI-assisted music production, including AI-generated vocal and instrumental performances.
His growing catalogue explores childhood memories, enduring relationships, family stories and the moments that stay with us long after they have passed.
At the heart of his work is a simple ambition: to write songs that feel familiar, as though they might belong in the listener's own memories too.
