Podcasts

Start or import a show, record episodes in your browser, and manage your feed.

Starting a show

Choose New podcast from the Create menu. You can create a show from scratch with a title, author, category and description — or import one you already have by pasting its RSS or Atom feed. When importing, you can choose to keep syncing new episodes from the feed and to copy the audio files to Fablesh storage.

Recording an episode

In My podcasts, press Record episode on a show. Recording happens in your browser: pick your microphone, check the level and choose the quality. You can pause and resume. The recording uploads in small pieces as you go, so if your connection drops or the tab closes, you can recover it as a draft next time.

When you stop, save the episode as a draft, process it for publishing, or discard it.

Managing your show

Press Manage on a show to edit its title and description, edit or remove single episodes, or remove the whole podcast. Your podcasts are also listed in Works.

Archive or remove?

  • Archive takes the show off the public catalogue and its RSS feed. Nothing is deleted, and Restore brings it back.
  • Remove takes the show or episode off the site and the feed at once. A Fablesh admin can restore it for 30 days; after that it is deleted for good.

Your RSS feed

Your show's public RSS feed is at api.fablesh.com/rss/<your-show>.xml, where <your-show> is your show's short name. The show's public page on Fablesh points podcast apps to the feed as well. An archived or removed show has no feed.
